St. Patrick's Day Projects

So I enjoy love, lovelove holidays. Everything about them. I LOVE a good reason to celebrate, to decorate, to dress up…I just love all things festive! Today I'm thinking about St. Patrick's Day and all of the fun things out there to do to celebrate. I'm thinking that the Lucky Leprechaun that used to visit my classroom when I taught school may make a special visit to J and H and our house on the hill this year. :)

My mantel is also needing a little love. We actually have had enough time this year between Valentine's Day and Easter that my mantel should've been shown a little shamrock love before now. What was I thinking?! Pinterest here I come! I hope one of these things I share is enough to motivate you to do something fun and festive for yourself, your family, your friends, or your littles. I'm ready to make a trip to HL. Now tell me...What do you do for St. Patrick's Day? Do you love a good reason to celebrate and get crafty as well??

XOXO~

Snow Days -Continued-

Oh blogger…I'm beginning to have a love/hate relationship with you. I was just about to post pictures from our 12-14 inch Carolina snow and you went all CrAzY on me. And yes, I did say 12-14 inches! Isn't that nuts?!? Especially here in the south! Anyway, shall we try this again? :)

Snow Angels

He'll never know his snowsuit was pink, right???

I forgot to mention that we were without power for several hours like 6 hours  on one of the days we were snowed in. ALL I could think about was bedtime…HOW would we manage without heat, a nightlight and our sound machine?!? Lucky for us, we didn't have to worry about that. But…my Dad was quick to power up the generator and start the search online for any hotel availability, just in case!

We enjoyed sledding, snowball fights, making snow angels, eating snow cream, the roaring fires, building snowmen, and of course snuggling to stay warm. Snow is pretty and fun…but I'm over it in about 2 days. Bring on Spring!! We're ready for you, sunshine!

Snow Days

Have you ever been snowed in? We were seriously snowed in last week at my Mom and Dad's. It very rarely snows down here in Georgia…but we got a double whammy all within about 2 weeks. The first snow came while we were home in Georgia…J enjoyed his little time sledding down our hill out front, and I was furious at the hubs for keeping him outside too long in his little wet (with snow) gloves and rain boots!!

Look at his sweet face...he hasn't seen snow since he was a baby!

"It's snowing, Momma!!!!"

My little snow bear

Sledding in our "big" snow!
Little did we know what we'd be experiencing in North Carolina in about a week and a half!!!

Now for a few pictures of the Carolina snow. Mom and Dad live on the lake, so it usually gets a lot less snow (when it snows) than say…down the road. We were not as prepared for this snow, as my littles had polar fleece jackets and thin Patagonia coats. Thank God for Facebook and for friends that saw our need from a simple post I posted about us being unprepared. These friends were blessings to us, for sure!! We scored a real snow coat for J, along with some boots and a fluffy pink snow suit for H! Who cares that he looked like Ralphie from "A Christmas Story"?!?! He was a cutie in the snow, if only for a few minutes!

A New Beginning and Feeling Inspired

Crazy how the tiniest things can inspire you. Today I won something (that I have been longing for,  seriously longing for!)….for my kiddos. It made me feel like a million bucks, on top of the world, and squealing like a kid on Christmas morning when I saw my name. Ridiculous, I know….but I was (and still am) pretty excited and feeling lucky! (More details on that at a later date…let's just say I won from following and entering a giveaway on a blog.)

Anyway, I've been thinking about my blog and what direction I want to go with it. I have a couple Mommy friends, whom I adore- who all have blogs and I absolutely love reading them. (Lori, Julia)  I thought to myself, I can do that. I need something else to do. ;)

No really, I have a wonderful life with the sweetest husband and the most precious little boys you could ever imagine. I want to remember these moments, pictures, events, and stories forever. I want to treasure these memories so I can look back one day and laugh (or cry), depending on how the post moves me.  Plus, my Mom always says I need to write my stories down because the stories I tell her (about my life or my boys) are so hilarious or just that unbelievable. So….here we go.

This blog will be about me, my hopes, my dreams, my boys, my crafty ideas and DIY projects, with some fashion, recipes, photography, giveaways and other things that I care about. I hope you follow me on this sweet, yet sometimes crazy journey of mommy-hood. In the upcoming weeks, I'll be trying to spiff the blog up and gain some followers, so bear with me as I learn how to do just that. I'm excited about this new outlet/hobby of mine and can't wait to start documenting our sweet story.

I'M BACK!

This is cRaZy, absolutely NUTS that I seem to have fallen off of the face of the earth! BUT…have no fear, I am BACK…for real this time! Life sort of got in the way and presented many changes and events, so this sweet blog of mine took a backseat quicker than it started. I'll fill you all in on the things that have been missed and the things that have transpired over the next week. In the mean time, I'll leave you with a picture of my sweet family of 4 now!

XOXO~

10 months old 2.10.11

So, my sweet baby boy is 10 months old....10 months old!!! Yes...I said 10 months old. Hard to believe, I know. He is growing so fast and time has flown...makes me sad to think of how fast it's all gone by. Here's a little recap of Jackson and what he loves and doesn't love these days. :)

  • Jackson is a fan of bathtme, but NOT the drying off part.
  • He love, love, loves "Wheel of Fortune"...is absolutely mesmerized by the spinning wheel!
  • Has already been through surgery and stitches and all that mess that we hope to never go through again!
  • He cries when you close the door, close the dishwasher, close the freezer, close the cabinets...I mean boo hoos! :(
  • He LOVES to be outside...I believe that would be thanks to my parents and our time in his early months at the lake. Get ready for him, Dad!
  • Dogs make him laugh...hysterically.
  • He loves to swing...another lake tradition, I believe.
  • He kisses...when asked....and its just the sweetest thing EVER!
  • Jackson has seen snow more times the past few months than I have seen in YEARS.
  • Hide and go seek and "chase" keep him entertained.
  • He still loves Mickey Mouse and Little Einsteins.
  • Books are still one of his favs!
  • Bananas keep him happy....especially when we're eating!
  • Jackson is quite the dancer...
  • He'll pull on every power cord in sight.
  • UGA is his team for sure...we've experienced football, basketball, and gymnastics. Looking forward to baseball with "Uncle Eller"! :)
  • Still not sleeping through the night, but we're working on it....surgery and sickness are to blame!
  • Jackson is a MASTER of the "army crawl" and is super fast!
  • His hair is getting longer and thicker and he's now back on the charts with his weight!!
ONLY 2 more months until my baby bug turns ONE...time to start the PaRtY planning!! :) Eeeee!!!!

LONG overdue...

So I kind of fell out of the blog world for a few months, but as one of my New Year's "Promises," I vow to be better so that everyone can keep up with our family.  Plus...Jackson's growing so fast....don't want to miss sharing his pictures! So....let's recap a bit over some things you may have missed...

Jackson attended his FIRST UGA football game and met Russ, UGA's fill in. Jackson was not so much a fan of the noise or the large crowd and was fast asleep by kickoff.

The golf team got their SEC Championship rings.

We took Jackson to Jacksonville, Florida and stayed at the best hotel ever!!

Had a little reunion with my best friends from High School (Mississippi). We had not seen each other for over 10 years, but picked up like we saw each other yesterday! Old friends are THE BEST!

We took Jackson to a pumpkin patch.

Spent Jackson's 1st Thanksgiving at the "Big Banana" in Myrtle Beach, SC. Jackson experienced the arcade, photo ops, LOTS of family, a friend from Japan, meeting one of my former students, a little shopping, a whole lot of spoiling and a L-O-N-G car ride back home!

Took Jackson to visit Daddy at work for lunch...a time or two!

We celebrated Jackson's first Christmas...and Santa, both in Georgia! :)

We went to Boone, NC the day after Christmas for some snow-filled fun! Pictures of Jackson sledding in the laundry basket to come soon!

We enjoyed Jackson's first UGA basketball game. He loved watching the dancers and cheerleaders. Now when we took him to a gymnastics meet weeks later, he screamed...every time anyone cheered.

We had a blast in 2010! Here's to 2011!

xoxo~Angela
